I make absolutely no bones about my intense loathing for Michael Cole, and this largely stems from the fact that he wasn't always a douchebag. He started off as a great color commentator for the WWE, he was unbiased, professional and saw the difference between right and wrong.
But over the past year and a half, or maybe longer, I honestly don't remember nor do I care, one minute he was a great broadcaster, and then in an instant he changed into this moronic asshole. And it happened during the first season of NXT, largely because he started putting down the independent wrestling circuit and claiming that 'if you weren't in the WWE, you're not really anybody' or some bullshit.
For a number of years I have followed some branches of the independent wrestling circuit in Florida and have found it to be thoroughly entertaining, quite brutal, very in your face and visceral. What really pisses me off even more is how Michael Cole seemed to be spouting out this ridiculous Orwellian propaganda where he seemed to believe that in the beginning was the WWE and nothing else. The fact that this asshole is so blatantly wrong and ill informed just fuels my ire even further. This is especially true when he kept on talking about how Daniel Bryans should respect The Miz. EXCUSE ME!?!? The Miz is a fly by night talentless reality star who couldn't wrestle his way out of a goddamn paper bag, and someone who is far more talented than Mike Mizanin is supposed to just automatically respect him? Fuck that!
Respect isn't given... its earned, and The Mizstake hasn't done ONE single thing to earn my respect. And what is even worse is how Michael Cole seems to be The Fiz's personal cheerleader. I swear if Michael Cole's tongue were any further up The Miz's ass, he'd be licking the back of those horse's dentures the Miz calls his teeth.
Anyway, Michael Cole's self-deluded belief in his own greatness just add MORE fuel to the fire, because the problem with him is simply that he is trying to be like Bobby Heenan. Or worse yet, he is trying to be like how Jerry Lawler USED to be, and its not working. because while The King and Bobby Heenan have intelligence, wit, and charisma, not to mention loads of personality to pull it off, Michael Cole has absolutely NONE of these qualities. He's not someone you love to hate, he's someone I hate PERIOD!! He's not charming or charismatic or intelligent or witty.... HE'S JUST AN ASSHOLE!!
It's really why I don't watch the WWE anymore, because it means having to put up with this fucking Jabroni on a weekly basis, and quite frankly I'd rather chop off my own head with a rusty ax than listen to Michael Cole's incoherent rantings and ravings about things he's not qualified to talk about.
